The Yellow Slip (Registration Certificate for EU Citizens) enables EU, EEA, and certain UK residents to stay and work in Cyprus for the long term. Since 2017, Cyprus issues this certificate on yellow paper. It ensures access to healthcare, banks, education, and legal employment—making it essential for a smooth stay.
Who Qualifies & Benefits
Eligibility:
EU, EEA, and eligible UK citizens who plan to stay over 90 days
Their family members (spouses, children under 21, dependent relatives)
They must also show financial stability and health coverage.

Renewals & Permanent Residency
EU citizens: Yellow Slip is valid indefinitely without formal renewal.
Non-EU family members: Renewal every 5 years is required.
After 5 years of continuous legal residence, holders may apply for permanent residency (MEU3), provided they haven’t been absent more than 6 months per year (except specific reasons).
