The Cyprus Tax Department has introduced Tax For All (TFA)—a unified digital platform—to streamline tax administration and replace legacy systems like TAXISnet. The portal consolidates services for income tax, VAT, certificates, payments, and more. This article covers registration, features, benefits, and tips for using TFA effectively.

What Is TFA?

TFA, or Tax For All, is the central electronic system for tax services in Cyprus. It merges various tax functions into one user-friendly portal. Key features include:

  • Tax registration and account management
  • Filing VAT and income tax returns
  • Issuing tax clearance and registration certificates
  • Online payment of taxes and fees
  • Accessing past returns, issuing refunds, and handling objections

This system replaces older platforms, aiming to simplify tax procedures for all users.

Who Needs to Register?

Registration on TFA has been mandatory since January 8, 2024. All taxpayers—including individuals, self-employed professionals, companies, VAT-registered entities, and non-resident taxpayers—must register before conducting any tax-related activity.

To access TFA, users need a Tax Identification Number (TIN). This number begins with “6” followed by seven digits and a control letter (e.g., 6XXXXXXA).

How to Register for TFA

1. Create Your Account

Start by visiting the TFA portal. Provide personal details, verify your email, and use the confirmation link (valid for two hours) to activate the account.

2. Register as a Taxpayer

After logging in, choose whether you’re registering as an individual or entity. Upload the required documents—such as ID, Yellow/Pink Slip, or passport—and submit the application. You’ll receive your TIN and TAXISnet login details within three working days.

3. VAT Registration (If Needed)

For VAT registration, complete Form T.D.1101 after obtaining your TIN. The entire process is handled through the TFA portal.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Unified portal: Access every tax service from one place
  • Real-time updates: Monitor liabilities, deadlines, and account status
  • Electronic agent appointment: Authorize professionals to act on your behalf
  • Digital documentation: Download VAT certificates, tax clearance, and registration documents
  • Online payments: Pay taxes securely through JCC or bank systems

Timeline & Roll-Out Phases

TFA launched in early 2023, starting with VAT and indirect tax processes. Its rollout follows a phased approach that continues to expand across direct taxation services.

As of 2024, all new tax registrations must go through TFA, making older forms like T.F.2001 obsolete.

Tips for Smooth Use

  • Update your email in the old TAXISnet system before migrating
  • Use available guides and webinars for step-by-step help
  • Enable notifications to receive updates on deadlines and account actions
  • Appoint a tax agent through TFA if needed for support

Why It Matters

TFA significantly modernizes tax administration in Cyprus. For businesses, it ensures better VAT compliance, faster certificate issuance, and easier filings. Individuals benefit from streamlined registration, instant document access, and centralized records.
