Cyprus is moving tax services onto a single digital platform: Tax For All (TFA). If you file VAT, run payroll, request tax certificates, or register for a Tax Identification Number (TIN), you’ll increasingly do it inside TFA. Below you’ll find what the portal does, who must use it, how to register, and the latest transition dates—plus quick fixes for common issues.
What is TFA, and why it matters
TFA is the new unified online system of the Cyprus Tax Department. It centralises filings, payments, secure messaging, and registry updates for individuals and businesses. The official portal lists services such as secure messages, certificate requests, viewing accounts, filing returns, and updating registration data. You log in with CY Login (the government single-sign-on).
What you can already do in TFA (live services)
- Register for tax (TIN) and manage your profile
- Submit VAT returns (now only via TFA) and related forms
- File VIES statements for intra-EU supplies
- Request tax certificates and use secure mailbox for official notices
- See balances and liabilities and update registration details
The VAT Guide (Aug 2024) confirms VAT returns are submitted only through TFA. The same guide and the Tax Department website outline VIES duties and electronic filing.
Who must use TFA (and when)
- New taxpayers: registration in the Tax Register is carried out only online via TFA. To apply, first create a TFA account, then submit the online registration request.
- Employers & payroll: 2025 updates indicate that Employer’s Return (T.D.7) and related PAYE submissions are moving to TFA in the first half of 2025 (transition notices were issued by the Tax Department and professional firms).
- All businesses with VAT/VIES: file through TFA; the platform was restored on 21 July 2025 after an upgrade, with new submission guidance published.
Note on transition: Some individual income-tax items have been extended or temporarily remain on TAXISnet during migration. For example, the department extended the 2024 individual return deadline to 30 September 2025, and the notice referenced online filing through TAXISnet. Always check which portal applies to your specific return in 2025.
How to register for TFA (step-by-step)
- Create a CY Login (gov single sign-on).
- Open the TFA portal and choose Create account.
- Complete online registration (individual or entity) using the official guides.
- Verify your email/phone and finish identity checks.
The government’s Online Registration Guides walk you through each screen (individuals and businesses). Helpdesk contacts: 17700 (Cyprus), +357 22803803 (abroad), tfahelpdesk@tax.mof.gov.cy.
Filing snapshots (VAT, VIES, PAYE)
- VAT: prepare your figures, then submit inside TFA; the VAT guide sets formatting rules (e.g., decimals and comma usage) and confirms TFA-only filing.
- VIES: if you supply goods/services to EU VAT numbers, file your VIES recapitulative statement via the Tax Department systems; Cyprus details trader duties on its VIES page.
- PAYE/T.D.7: migration to TFA is underway; watch official circulars and your accountant’s alerts for the exact go-live of each form.
Common problems, and quick fixes
- “I can’t see my service in TFA.” During migration, some returns may still sit on TAXISnet. Check the latest announcement for your form and tax year.
- “I can’t register my business.” Use the Business in Cyprus page, which clearly states that Tax Register applications happen only through TFA and links to account-creation and e-registration guides.
- “I need help now.” Contact the TFA Helpdesk (17700 / +357 22803803 / tfahelpdesk@tax.mof.gov.cy).
Key dates to watch in 2025
- 21 July 2025: TFA back online after upgrade; new submission guidance for VAT/VIES/PAYE published.
- 2025 (H1): Employers shift to TFA for returns and payments per transition notices.
- 30 September 2025: extended deadline for 2024 individual income-tax e-filing (department announcement). Verify which portal applies to you.
Quick checklist (save this)
- Create CY Login → Open TFA → Register online (use official guides)
- VAT & VIES through TFA; follow formatting rules in the VAT guide
- Employers: monitor TFA go-live for T.D.7/PAYE in 2025
- If in doubt, call 17700 or email tfahelpdesk@tax.mof.gov.cy for confirmation
Bottom line
TFA is the new home of Cyprus tax administration. Registration, VAT/VIES filings, certificates, and secure messaging are consolidating there, with payroll and other returns migrating through 2025. Use the official guides, confirm which portal applies to your current return, and keep the helpdesk contacts handy.
